Privacy Policy

takeft is a calling app for families. We try to collect as little as possible — only what is needed to actually place and receive calls. This page explains exactly what that is.

What we collect

  • Account info: the email address used to sign in, and a name or nickname if provided.
  • Contact links: which accounts you have linked with a pairing code, and the name you know each of them by, so we can route calls between you and show who is calling.
  • Push tokens: a per-device identifier from Apple or Google so we can wake the phone when a call comes in.
  • Call records: who called whom, when, and for how long. We do not record the audio of your calls.

What we don't collect

  • We do not record, store, or listen to your calls. During a call, the audio travels from each phone to a media server, which forwards it to the other person. It is encrypted on its way to and from that server and is never recorded or kept.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers.
  • We do not embed third-party analytics or tracking SDKs to profile you.

Third parties we rely on

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — handles sign-in.
  • LiveKit — the media server that carries the voice of a call. It is either LiveKit Cloud (operated by LiveKit, Inc.) or a LiveKit server we run ourselves, and which one handles a call can change without an app update. In both cases the audio is only relayed while the call is in progress.
  • Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging — deliver the ring to your phone.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from inside the app under Settings → Delete account — this is immediate. If you can no longer open the app, request deletion at takeft.com/delete-account or by emailing [email protected]. We remove your account, contact links, and call history within 30 days.

Children

takeft is intended for adults. It is designed to be set up by an adult for use by themselves and their family members, including elderly parents. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
