Terms of Use

Last updated: October 27, 2026

These terms cover your use of the takeFT app and the service behind it, provided by Logic FT Inc ("we"). By using takeFT you agree to them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, email [email protected].

What takeFT is

takeFT makes voice calls over the internet between accounts that have linked with each other using a pairing code. It is free: there are no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. We may change, add or remove features.

takeFT is not an emergency service

In an emergency, call your local emergency number, such as 112 or 911, from your phone's own dialer.

  • takeFT does not replace a phone line, a medical alarm or emergency services.
  • Calls and alerts depend on an internet connection, on Apple's and Google's push services, on the phones' settings (Do Not Disturb, silent mode, battery saving, screen-time limits) and on someone being there to answer. Any of these can delay or stop a call or an alert, sometimes without either side being told.
  • A Help or Emergency button can only do what it is set up to do. Set to alert the family, it sends notifications that may not be seen in time. Set to an emergency number, it opens the phone's dialer with that number: the call itself is made by the phone, not by takeFT, and needs a SIM card and a mobile network.
  • What the app shows about another phone, such as whether it rang, its battery, its ringer or when it was last online, is the last thing that phone reported, and may be out of date.

Your account

  • takeFT is for adults. You may set up an account for someone else, such as a parent, only with their agreement, and until they take it over you are responsible for it.
  • Keep your password, and an elder-mode PIN, to yourself and the people you trust with them. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Use a name the people you link with will recognize, and don't pretend to be someone else.

Using takeFT fairly

Don't use takeFT to:

  • harass, threaten or deceive anyone, or keep calling someone who has made clear they don't want your calls;
  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • get into accounts that aren't yours, or link with someone without their knowledge;
  • disrupt, overload or probe the service, or work around its limits and protections.

Anyone can block a person in the app, and report them to us at [email protected].

Suspending an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts someone at risk, and sign it out of every phone. Where we can, and where it is safe to, we will tell the account holder why.

Stopping

You can stop using takeFT at any time, and delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete account or at takeft.com/delete-account. What happens to your data then is in our privacy policy.

Privacy

What we collect, who sees it and how long we keep it are in our privacy policy.

App stores and other services

If you installed takeFT from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Signing in with Google or Apple, and the push services that deliver calls and alerts, are provided by those companies under their own terms. These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google.

No guarantees

We work hard to make every call ring and connect, but takeFT is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that it will always be available, that every call or alert will get through, or that it will be free of errors.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by a call or an alert that was delayed, not delivered or not answered. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away your rights as a consumer where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will also say so in the app's release notes. Using takeFT after a change means you accept the new terms.
